Emma Hughes RVN A1
Emma joined the practice in 1995 having studied Animal Care at Kingston Maurward College. She qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2000 and subsequently became an A1 assessor. Emma shares her time between nursing duties and working in the hydrotherapy pool as part of the Honeysuckle Rehabilitation Centre team.
Formerly an active member of the local Young Farmers Club and stalwart of the ladies tug of war team, her energies are now directed towards her young family, Ellie and Harry, and looking after husband Gary.
In her spare time Emma enjoys baking, cooking and running.
Kelly Dewsnip MSc MCSP ACPAT ‘A’
Kelly joined the team at Girling and Bowditch in 2009 after working in mixed human and veterinary practice for five years. Chartered Veterinary Physiotherapists, who specialise in veterinary rehabilitation, are first required to train in human physiotherapy, and go on to specialise in veterinary physiotherapy. Kelly graduated with an MSc in veterinary physiotherapy from the Royal Veterinary College, London, with a research project into Canine Gait.
With a keen interest in small animal orthopaedics, Kelly leads the team in our Rehabilitation Centre which includes a water treadmill as well as our purpose built hydrotherapy pool. Kelly shares her life with partner Greg and in her spare time enjoys scuba diving, triathlon and walking her dogs ‘Jimmy’ and ‘Finch’.
Steph joined us in March 2014 working as one of our receptionists. She has since undertaken her hydrotherapy training, achieveing an ABC Level 3 Certificate in Hydrotherpy for Small Animals.
She shares her home with husband Adam, baby Joshua and their dogs, ‘Strider’, ‘Merlin’ and ‘Ness’, and a flock of sheep (although they’re not allowed upstairs!). In her spare time Steph regularly participates in agility shows.
